All about Hibiki
Whiskey lovers will be well acquainted with the liquor's classic roots in the British Isles and the American South, but Hibiki Whiskey lets you add another stamp to your whiskey passport. Shinjiro Torii, the creator of Hibiki's parent company, Suntory Whiskey, was inspired by Scotland's rugged yet complex signature liquor. In the 1920s, he sought to craft a more refined version that would better suit the cuisine of his Japanese culture. Suntory Whiskey today is one of the best-known whiskey distilleries in Japan.
Introduced in 1989, Hibiki Whiskey is a blend of several different whiskies. Packed with flavor yet still delicate on the palate, it's one of the most highly regarded Japanese spirits. There is a range of Hibiki products from which to choose, depending on your preference for aging. From lighter amber blends to a 30-year golden bottle, Hibiki Whisky offers a much different sipping experience. You'll notice unusual flavors like lychee and fig, in addition to the liquor's traditional smokiness and caramel notes. The unique combination relies on the delicate mixture of Japanese whiskey with American oak-aged whiskeys and those made from the traditional Scottish style.
Imported whiskeys from Japan have a slightly higher sticker price and feel a little more luxurious, so you won't want to stray too far from the pure product. To enjoy Hibiki Whiskey, the perfect recommendation is to use a highball glass filled with ice; however, the product can also be enjoyed neat or with a touch of water. Serve with heated water and a touch of honey for a special treat.
