What is Liqueur?

A Liqueur is a flavored and sweet alcoholic drink. Liqueurs are produced by combining spirits with fruits, spices, or herbs and are sweetened by adding sugar. How is Liqueur made?

Liqueur making starts with a base spirit followed by cream, spices, herbs, or nuts with sugar or sweeteners to create a liqueur flavor. Base spirits used for liqueur whiskey, vodka, tequila, brandy, rum, and gin. Four methods used to give liqueur flavor are infusion, extraction, distillation, and smoking.
