Ardbeg Uigeadail is produced at the Ardbeg Distillery, located on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. This non chill filtered single malt Scotch is named after the distillery's water source, Loch Uigeadail. The whiskey is made from malted barley and is known for its combination of sweetness, spice, and deep smokiness. The peat laden waters of Loch Uigeadail contribute to the smoky tones. At the same time, the maturation process involves aging in both ex bourbon and ex sherry casks. This unique vatting method marries the deep, smoky notes from aging for 10 years in ex bourbon American oak with the luscious, raisin like character of ex sherry Oloroso casks. Ardbeg Uigeadail is best enjoyed with food pairings such as treacle, bacon, or bonfires, enhancing the tasting experience. This whiskey has received numerous accolades and medals in various competitions, solidifying its reputation as a top tier single malt Scotch.

Color: Deepest gold.

Aroma: This aroma is rich and smoky. At full strength, it smells like warm Christmas cake, walnut oil, and parma violets. You can also detect fresh ocean spice, cedar, and pine needles, like those from a Christmas tree. The warmth comes from a smoldering coal fire and well oiled leather. Sweet notes of treacle toffees and chocolate covered raisins peek through the smoke. When you add water, the smokiness grows stronger, similar to a cooked Christmas pudding. You can also smell rich flowering currants, warm baked banana and walnut bread, and the aroma of simmering mocha espresso.

Palate: This drink is rich and flavorful, with a smooth texture that coats your mouth. It offers a unique mix of sweet, spicy, and smoky tastes. At first, you taste the sweetness, followed by a burst of winter spices that create a smoky and tangy kick. This is balanced by flavors of honey glazed smoked foods and chewy treacle in the middle.
