Asombroso Especial de Rouge 10 Year Old Extra Anejo Tequila is an extra anejo tequila from Asombroso in Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 40 alcohol by volume (ABV). It is made from Tequilana Weber agave grown in the Los Altos region, cooked in low-pressure autoclaves, extracted using screw- and roller-mill methods, fermented in stainless steel tanks with 100 percent agave, and distilled twice in copper pot stills. The tequila is aged for ten years in cognac casks, used barrels, and French oak barrels, allowing extended interaction with the wood to influence both structure and character. This long aging process highlights the balance between mature agave spirit and barrel influence, developing layered depth while maintaining tequila identity. The production profile reflects slow maturation, with barrel aging contributing to softness, oak-driven tones, and a rounded finish shaped by cognac and French oak casks.
Asombroso Especial de Rouge 10 Year Old Extra Anejo Tequila can be enjoyed neat or sipped slowly to appreciate its aged profile, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, aged cheeses, or decadent desserts. It can also be served as a refined after-dinner pour or presented as a gifting option for collectors and tequila enthusiasts. The tequila is certified kosher, adding to its product distinction.
Aroma: Sweet citrus, orange peel, oak wood.
Palate: Orange blossom, mild agave, strong French oak wood, smooth agave with a medium body finish.
