Blue Run High Rye Bourbon

Blue Run High Rye Bourbon is a small batch whiskey and the first Blue Run Kentucky Bourbon with Hall of Famer Jim Rutledge serving as the contracted Master Distiller at Blue Run Spirits, LLC in Bardstown, Kentucky (Jim served as the liquid advisor on all previous Blue Run products except Golden Rye). Jim distilled this batch at Castle & Key Distillery. Blue Run High Rye Bourbon is a premium small batch whiskey crafted with precision and passion. Crafted from a mash bill consisting of 65% yellow corn, 30% rye, and 5% malted barley, this Blue Run bourbon is aged in four alligator char barrels, resulting in a rich and complex flavor profile.

Bottled at 55.5% alcohol by volume (ABV), 111 proof, Blue Run High Rye Bourbon boasts a robust and well structured spirit. The glass's amber hue and slow forming legs hint at its depth and complexity. This Blue Run Kentucky straight High Rye Bourbon Whiskey is also awarded for best in the New Orleans Spirit competition category.

Aroma: The nose is pralines and orange peel. There are hints of bright cherry and tobacco. Brown sugar and nuttiness start to shine on the palate.

Palate: There is a little white pepper, but it's well balanced. It slowly moves to stone fruit and dried apricot.

Finish: The finish is long. As the finish progresses, there's herbal white tea, peach, and clove.
