Damiana Liqueur

Damiana Liqueur is a light, herbal-based spirit from Mexico, crafted from the Damiana herb that naturally grows in Baja California. Known for its smooth herbal character and great mixability, it is often enjoyed as a shooter or as a base for creative Damiana Liqueur cocktails. With a long history tied to tradition and folklore, it remains one of Mexico’s most distinctive liqueurs.

The bottle itself is iconic - shaped like a pregnant woman and modeled after the Incan God of Fertility. Damiana also has a storied past, as the original margarita was famously made with Damiana Liqueur, and the Damiana Margarita remains especially popular in the Los Cabos region.

The Damiana plant is a small shrub with pale green oval leaves and aromatic yellow flowers, long regarded for its use as an herbal remedy and its ancient reputation as an aphrodisiac, dating back to the Mayans. Today, it remains an essential ingredient in signature drinks, such as Sammy Hagar’s Waborita.
