Del Maguey Las Milpas Mezcal is an artisanal expression that reflects the tradition and craftsmanship of San Dionisio Ocotepec. Nestled among cornfields and rolling pastures, the palenque of Anastacio Cruz Antonio and his sons, Rigoberto, Abel, and Pedro, produces this Single Village Espadin with methods passed down for generations. Ripe agave Espadin is roasted in an earthen horno carved into a granite hillside, then milled using a horse-drawn molino. The agave is fermented naturally in open-air wooden tanks with only ambient microbes and yeasts before being twice distilled in small copper stills.

With a 46% alcohol by volume (ABV), 92 proof. True to the Del Maguey tradition, this mezcal is designed to be sipped slowly, never shot, to appreciate its depth and complexity. The aroma opens with slate and mineral notes, balanced by tropical fruit and citrus. On the palate, layers of rose petal florals, lavender, tarragon, and pea shoots unfold, leading to a long and pleasantly dry finish that highlights the expression’s unique terroir.

Del Maguey Las Milpas Mezcal has received international recognition, including Gold at the 2022 and 2023 Beverage Testing Institute, Double Gold at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Silver at the 2023 TAG Global Spirits Competition, and multiple accolades from the Ultimate Spirits Challenge with scores of 92 and 93 points.
