Del Maguey Wild Tepextate Mezcal

Del Maguey Wild Tepextate Mezcal is a rare edition crafted by Rogelio Martinez Cruz, the producer behind Del Maguey’s renowned Tobala. Made from the wild Tepextate agave, also known as Agave marmorata, this plant grows almost horizontally out of rocky mountain sides. It requires an extraordinary 18 to 25 years to fully mature. Its long growth cycle and unique habitat make it one of the most prized and difficult agaves to work with, adding to the distinctiveness of this mezcal within the Vino de Mezcal series.

The spirit opens with a bright and candied fruit nose of banana taffy and spun sugar, evolving into a palate layered with notes of passion fruit and marzipan. Subtle undertones of canela, or organic Mexican sugar, and floral hints of honeysuckle bring additional depth and refinement. Bottled at 45% alcohol by volume (ABV), 90 proof, this mezcal delivers both intensity and refinement, best savored with care. As with all Del Maguey Single Village editions, this mezcal is best sipped slowly to savor its delicate balance of fruit, spice, and florals.
