Dona Paula Alluvia Parcel Malbec comes from a meticulously selected 2.4-hectare plot in block 8 of the Alluvia Vineyard in Gualtallary, Uco Valley, situated at 1,350 meters above sea level. The vineyard is located in an old streambed with nutrient-poor soils composed of alluvial stones coated in calcium carbonate, intermixed with sand and limestone, which provides excellent drainage. These extreme conditions, combined with cool days and cold nights, produce wines of intense character, minerality, and firm structure with exceptional aging potential. The wine undergoes microvinification in small containers, utilizing wild yeast fermentation, extended maceration, and complete malolactic fermentation, before being aged for 20 to 22 months in 50% new French oak barrels. With 15% alcohol by volume (ABV), it offers both depth and refinement.
This single-parcel Malbec is a true reflection of the unique terroir of Gualtallary and has earned critical recognition for its precision and character, standing out among Argentina's finest high-altitude wines. Best enjoyed with rich dishes such as grilled meats, roasted lamb, or aged cheeses, it also has remarkable potential for cellaring.
