Dona Paula Altitude Series 1100 Red is a high-altitude wine from El Cepillo in the Uco Valley, an area known for producing Malbec of exceptional quality. This blend is composed of 70% Malbec and 30% Syrah, sourced from vineyards that were planted after extensive studies identified the region’s best-performing varieties. Harvest takes place in April, beginning with Syrah and concluding with Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, all of which are done by hand with careful sorting. Each variety undergoes cold maceration in stainless steel tanks to capture primary aromas before fermentation. The wine is then blended and aged for 14 to 16 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new, achieving harmony and depth. With an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 14.5% ABV, it offers both depth and refinement.
This wine has been praised for its quality, earning 91 and 92 points in recent tastings, underscoring its balance and elegance. It pairs beautifully with bittersweet dishes, red meats, pasta with rich sauces, meat pies, Middle Eastern cuisine, or desserts with dulce de leche.
