Dona Paula Estate Blue Edition Velvet Blend originates from the El Alto Vineyard in Ugarteche, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, where the vines are planted at an elevation of 1,050 meters above sea level. This sustainably managed estate benefits from warm days and cool nights, characterized by a wide thermal amplitude that enhances the aromatic expression and balance. 

The blend is composed of 60% Malbec, 30% Pinot Noir, and 10% Bonarda, which are harvested by hand between mid-March and late March. Grapes undergo cold maceration to preserve freshness before fermentation at controlled temperatures, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Blending takes place near bottling to capture each variety’s contribution to the wine’s complexity. This wine contains 13.5% alcohol by volume (ABV). It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or pasta with rich sauces, making it a versatile choice for both casual and elegant dining.

Color: Intense violet with black hues.

Aroma: Fresh berry aromas from Malbec, cherry notes from Pinot Noir, with added complexity of blackberry and redcurrant from Bonarda.

Palate: Good volume with silky tannins.

Finish: Long and pleasant finish.
