Dona Paula Los Cardos Malbec is produced from estate-owned vines in the El Alto Vineyard in Ugarteche, Lujan de Cuyo, planted at an elevation of 1,050 meters above sea level. The vineyard is situated on clayey loam soils, characterized by warm days and cool nights, with a 14-degree Celsius thermal amplitude. This thermal amplitude is balanced by an annual rainfall of just 250 mm.
Grapes are harvested from mid to late March, gently destemmed, and softly crushed before undergoing a cold pre-fermentative maceration to preserve primary aromas. Traditional fermentation is followed by a 10- to 15-day post-fermentation maceration, which develops structure and balance. This wine contains 13.5% alcohol by volume (ABV). This Malbec pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, pork, pasta with tomato sauce or mushrooms, risotto, empanadas, and pizza, making it a versatile companion to many meals.
