Fossetta Pinot Grigio originates from the Venezia D.O.C. in northeastern Italy, an area situated between Venice and the border of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate, with the Alps offering protection from cold northern winds and the Adriatic Sea tempering winter temperatures. On the north-facing slopes, the soils are medium-textured. At the same time, in the plains, the soil is richer in clay, creating ideal conditions for producing fresh, elegant white wines.
Grapes are harvested in early September, gently destemmed and pressed, then fermented at controlled temperatures before resting on the lees for 3–4 months to build structure and suppleness. With 12% alcohol by volume (ABV), this wine is both versatile and refreshing, making it a great choice as an aperitif or alongside seafood starters, fish-based pasta and risotto dishes, shellfish, or grilled fish.
