Mezcal Nucano Espadin Reposado is a 100% artisanal mezcal from San Dionisio, Oaxaca, created by third- and fourth-generation Maestro Mezcaleros. Produced from Espadin agave that matures for at least 8 years, the piñas are roasted in underground stone-lined pits, crushed using a traditional Tahona stone, naturally fermented, and double-distilled in small copper pot stills. After distillation, the mezcal is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 9 months, which imparts additional layers of flavor and smoothness. With an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 40%, it offers a refined balance of smoky depth and sweet, fruity complexity.
This Reposado is noted for its expressive flavors of agave, pineapple, citrus, jasmine, caramel, and a touch of smoked cinnamon from the roasting process. It can be enjoyed neat or over ice. Still, it also makes an excellent base for cocktails such as the Nucano Mezcarita. It pairs wonderfully with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and traditional Oaxacan dishes. At the same time, its sweet, smoky character complements chocolate desserts and spiced pastries.
