Michel Picard Le Petit Perroy Sancerre is a refined expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley, France. Produced by winemaker Marc Vappereau, this wine reflects the terroir of hillside vineyards along the left bank of the Loire River, near the village of Sancerre. The grapes are harvested at peak maturity, fully de-stemmed, and gently pressed before undergoing temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 60°F for 6 to 8 weeks. The wine is then aged on fine lees in stainless steel, enhancing its freshness and texture without oak influence. With an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 13%, it combines vibrant fruit, floral character, and balanced minerality.
The profile opens with bright floral aromas of acacia, layered with a touch of grassy notes that are typical of Sauvignon Blanc. Its natural acidity and rich minerality bring freshness and balance, making it both elegant and quaffable. This Sancerre is a versatile partner at the table, pairing beautifully with raw or grilled fish and fresh goat cheese, highlighting its Loire Valley heritage.
