Michele Chiarlo Il Principe Langhe Nebbiolo captures the elegance and heritage of Piedmont's iconic grape. Crafted from vineyards in Barbaresco and Roero, the soils range from gray-blue marl with calcareous clay to lighter, sandy compositions, providing the wine with both structure and finesse. The Nebbiolo grapes are hand-harvested after careful cluster thinning, then gently vinified in steel tanks with 10 days of skin contact and a soft shower cap wetting technique. Malolactic fermentation occurs in steel, followed by at least 12 months of refinement in steel, wood, and bottle for aging.
At 14% alcohol by volume (ABV), this red wine showcases the purity of the varietal, offering a harmonious balance of fruit, tannins, and spice.
Serving Suggestion: Best enjoyed at 17–18 degrees Celsius with pasta in meat sauce, roast turkey, or medium-aged cheeses.
Color: Bright garnet red.
Aroma: Broad and delicate with remarkable expressions of the Nebbiolo grape; notes of violet, red fruits, and elegant fine spices are felt.
Palate: Harmonious, with good structure, presence of fine tannins, and a finish of good roundness.
