Old Potrero California Cellar Series #04 is a straight rye whiskey distilled in San Francisco, aged 6 years and 6 months in new charred American oak, then finished for 5 months in rye barrels that previously aged a custom imperial stout from Almanac Beer Co with an alcohol by Volume (ABV) of 57.5%. The beer-finished barrels add rich malt and chocolate depth while preserving Old Potrero's signature spicy rye character.
Color: Deep amber.
Aroma: Dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, and rickhouse oak.
Palate: Caramel, cocoa nibs, roasted malt, spiced apricot, and bold rye spice.
Finish: Long, viscous, and warming with deep stone fruit, malt sweetness, and lingering rye spice.
