Orin Swift Cellars Papillon Bordeaux Blend is a rare gem, a wine that stands out for being composed of all five Bordeaux style varietals from Napa Valley, California. A perfect blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot & Petit Verdot aged for 13 months in French oak, The wine opens with a unique combination of ripe boysenberry, powerful cassis, and chaparral aromatics with hints of fire roasted meats, graphite, fresh brioche, and sage. The entrance plays the palate with rich black cherry flavors blackberry, fresh minerality, and creme de menthe and a kir. The wine finishes with a lingering silky acidity and sweet licorice despite tannins. Papillon truly characterizes the theme of a bold, massive wine that is also complex and delicate.
