Muerto Blanco stands out for its revolutionary fermentation process, in which yeast is allowed to die, evolve, and rest for three weeks in an "afterlife," building complexity akin to the malolactic fermentation found in fine rums. This process is further enhanced by the Mozart Method, which plays classical music during fermentation, helping deepen the connection between agave and yeast.
The tequila is composed of two distinct batches:
Batch One: Agave from the Puerta de la Carreta fields, wild-fermented for 28 days.
Batch Two: Agave from Capulin Verde, wild-fermented with fibers for 32 days.
These two batches are blended at still-strength, filtered through volcanic rocks, and bottled at a powerful 54.5% ABV (109 proof), uncut and unfiltered, to preserve their raw, unrefined character. Only 4,500 bottles of this exceptional tequila are available, making it a rare and extraordinary opportunity to experience the afterlife of tequila.
